The National Benchmark Tests (NBT) will be used to complement the NSC examinations by helping Admissions Committees decide which of their applicants will best cope with the academic rigour of university. The extent to which test results are used in admissions decisions may vary from one institution to another. In general, test results are combined with other information, such as scholastic records, etc. Standardised test scores also provide a way for Admissions Committees to compare the qualifications of applicants from a variety of school and educational backgrounds.
